Address: 12 Rue Beaugrenelle

15eme Arrondisment

Tucked away in a small alley behind the noise and hullabaloo of Beaugrenelle, is a restaurant that dishes up some of the best Korean food in the city. We found this place quite by chance in early 2024 and loved it so much that it's now almost a weekly ritual to either order in or nip across to get some of our favorite Korean.

Before moving to Paris, I wasn't very aware of Korean food beyond the Korean fried chicken and the pork bibimbap. It has been in Paris, that I have discovered so much more about this delicious cuisine from the land that also gave us K-drama and K-pop.

Idam was an accidental discovery but one am glad we made. One of the best things about this restaurant is the consistency in the flavors and the dishes. It always tastes the same. The price point is also quite good for the portion sizes. I also love the fact that it is so close to the Pathe cinema at the mall that we usually pair a lunch or dinner with a movie we want to watch.

Our favorites to eat at Idam are pretty much what we order each time. I always begin with the Tofu Kimchi which comes with minced pork, it is the perfect combination of sour and bland as the kimchi mixes itself with the tofu pieces. Next we like to tuck into the Cheese Kimchi Jeong - now this is deep fried so proceed at your own risk (haha!). Finally for mains, we usually do get the Kimchi Jiggae and pair it up with one of the other main course / plats. The last time we got our selves the Pork Bibimbap.

So if you are in the area, stop by, especially this cold December to grab a hot bowl of Kimchi Jiggae or just to bite into some other delicious dishes served up by Idam.

I highly recommend!
